A group of astronomers was able to complete a three-dimensional map and color of the universe, with details that reach 380 million light years.
The map, never seen before, was named "2 Mass Redshift Survey (2MRS) and created by astronomers at the University of Portsmouth, who took over ten years to create.
The 2MRS help you better understand the motion of the Milky Way and the origin of Earth's gravity, they are drawn to areas previously hidden detail.
On 2 Reschift Mass Survey, which covers 95% of the sky and contains 45 000 galaxies, aimed to draw up the entire night sky with the use of light rays in the infrared range.
But the light of this type is able to penetrate the opaque clouds of dust surrounding the galaxies, which broadened their view and were able to almost reach the galactic disk of the Milky Way (region that concentrates most of the stars and gas of a spiral galaxy like our own).
The colors on the map are based on the distance of galaxies from the Earth.
In blue indicates that the galaxies are closer to the Earth, and those farther away are marked with red tones.
